We met at 7:30 a.m. at the day use parking lot at Leo Carrillo State Beach. The crew broke into three groups, with one group hiking to the top of the loop trail and working downwards with one hedge trimmer followed by two supporters who raked up the cuttings and used an electric shears and a McLeod to clear the trail. The second group hiked in approximately ½ mile and worked up the trail with two hedge trimmers and five supporters who raked up the cuttings and used loppers and saws to clear the trail. The last group consisted of one crew member who improved existing drains. The plan was for the two groups that were clearing brush and raking to meet, but we were not able to finish in the time allotted. There is approximately 0.15 miles left to clear We cleared approximately 0.45 miles. Crew size: 11. Total hours worked: 43.00 (10 volunteers x 4.00 hours, 1 volunteer x 3.00 hours). Total feet of trail maintained: 2,376 feet ( 0.45 miles).
